Early life
Allen grew up in Carmarthen, Wales, and joined Swansea City's youth academy as a teenager. He developed through their ranks before breaking into the senior team in the late 2000s.
Path and career
Allen made his Swansea debut in 2007 and became a key midfielder during their rise through the Football League divisions. He helped Swansea reach the Premier League in 2011 and played a crucial role in their first season at the top level.
He joined Liverpool in 2012 for £15 million but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. Allen later played for Stoke City, where he became a consistent performer, before returning to Swansea and joining Stoke again on loan.
