Early life
Born Kimetrius Foose in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, Lil Skies grew up in a small town in the Appalachian region. He began making music as a teenager, initially posting tracks online.
Path and career
Lil Skies gained viral attention in 2017 with the single "Lick Back," which accumulated millions of streams on SoundCloud and Spotify. His debut mixtape *Skies the Limit* (2017) and subsequent projects established him as part of the SoundCloud rap wave.
He signed with Republic Records and released his debut album *Life's a Trip* in 2018, featuring the hit single "Nowadays" with Juice WRLD. The album peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200 chart.
