Early life
Lattek was born in 1935 in Freiburg, Germany. He began his football career as a player before transitioning to coaching in the 1960s.

Lattek managed AS Roma, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayern Munich, and other clubs, winning multiple Bundesliga titles and reaching European Cup finals. He also worked as a journalist and football commentator after his coaching career ended.
