Early life
Cummins grew up in Sydney and showed early promise as a pace bowler. He was identified as a talented young cricketer and developed through New South Wales junior cricket programs.
Path and career
Cummins made his Test debut for Australia in 2011 at age 18, becoming one of the youngest fast bowlers selected for the national team. He has since become a cornerstone of Australia's bowling attack across all formats.
He was appointed captain of the Australian Test team in 2022, following Tim Paine's retirement. Cummins is known for his pace, accuracy, and ability to perform in high-pressure matches, including World Cup tournaments.
