Early life, education and early theatre work Nigel John Dermot Neill was born on 14 September 1947 in Omagh , County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, to an English mother, Priscilla Beatrice Ingham, and a New Zealand father, Dermot Neill. [ 1 ] As a result, he held three documented citizenships: Irish, British, and New Zealand. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] His great-grandfather, Percival "Percy" Neill, the son of a wine merchant who imported wine from France, left Belfast for Australia,
