Early life
Pomeroy was born in 1974 and grew up in Alaska before moving to Portland as a young adult. She developed her culinary skills through hands-on experience in restaurant kitchens rather than formal culinary school training.
Path and career
In 2007, Pomeroy opened Beast, a 24-seat restaurant featuring a fixed menu of locally sourced ingredients and family-style dining. The restaurant earned national recognition and helped define Portland's reputation as a culinary destination.
Pomeroy won the James Beard Award for Best Chef Northwest in 2013 and appeared on television cooking shows including Top Chef. She was also an advocate for sustainable food practices and mentored younger chefs in the Portland community.
